 COD. 036TR Un ambiente in cui la soluzione calcarea abbia avuto il tempo di ristagnare e sedimentarsi in un territorio pianeggiante, abbastanza vicina alla superficie da poter attraversare cicli di evaporazione e ri-sommersione, poco disturbata da acque sorgive o correnti, è l'ambiente giusto per la formazione del travertino. Il colore del travertino dipende dagli ossidi che ha incorporato (cosa che accade abbastanza facilmente, essendo di sua natura una pietra abbastanza porosa). La colorazione naturale varia dal bianco latte al noce, attraverso varie sfumature dal giallo al rosso. È frequente incontrarvi impronte fossili di animali e piante.

Travertine
The travertine rock is a type of sedimentary limestone chemical widely used in construction, especially in Rome, since I millennium BC.
The difference between the deposit of limestone type spongy and travertine bench is basically the shape of the geological formation of ground: the limestone deposits is a more frequent in kind being produced by the precipitation of calcium carbonate dissolved in the water.
An environment in which the solution limestone has had time to stagnate and sedimentarsi in a flat area, close enough to the surface that they can go through cycles of evaporation and ri-sommersione, little disturbed by water currents or springs, is the right place for the formation of travertine.
The color depends on the travertine that has incorporated oxides (which happens fairly easily, since by its nature a fairly porous stone). The natural color varies from white walnut milk through various shades from yellow to red. It is frequently meet fossil imprints of animals and plants.
